Home Theatre Is It For Me?
We are accustomed to enjoying movies at home via television, tape or DVD. But something is missing!
Modern movies have elaborate soundtracks which add as much to the impact and enjoyment of the film as the visual images do. With an AV receiver the soundtrack information can be recovered and sent to two, six or more speakers to produce truly impressive sound.
For the cooler weather coming, a good home theatre system will provide great family entertainment in the cozy comfort of your living room. Come into Duratone or Kingston Hi-Fi and audition some of the finest home theatre equipment to be found anywhere. We have home theatre systems from the modest to the mighty. But be prepared to be amazed! |
Do I Need HDMI?
HDMI is a single plug-single cable link between a signal source and a television where both have HDMI sockets. It conveys digitally encoded video and multi channel digital audio signals. It is well suited to connecting AV receivers or set top boxes.
The main advantages? No need for lots of colour coded plugs and separate cables and less need of conversion from analogue signals to digital. Is HDMI a better performing solution? Sometimes. But come into Duratone and compare the performance of high quality van den Hul component cables with van den Hul HDMI. Sometimes more is better than less! |
