Cary SLI80 Tube Integrated Amplifier

$6,795.00

The Cary SLI 80 is a true “high-end” exotic tube integrated amplifier with careful design, parts selection and proper circuit topologies that contribute to an incredible, reliable and enjoyable amplifier. The preamplifier circuit is a resistive coupled Class A triode voltage amplification stage. Within its power range, the SLI 80 is capable of switching between 40 Watts Triode or 80 Watts Ultra-Linear modes.

In my system, the tubed SLI-80HS sounded great with conventional loudspeakers and horns alike, and with all styles of music. It provided an uncluttered pathway to musical satisfaction, LP after LP. The Cary possesses all the qualities tube aficionados seek—and, perhaps due to its solid-state rectification, good if not spectacular grip on low-end fundamentals.

Cary SLI-80 Tube Integrated Amplifier

The SLI 80 integrated presents music with such presence and directness, you’ll be drawn into the music hour after musically satisfying hour. This is the result of circuit techniques, which eliminate any discernible crossover notch at low levels, and also contributes to the freedom from listening fatigue. The SLI 80 will draw you in even further as you realise how lucid and utterly uncoloured neutrality reveals delicate nuances in the sound stage.
