This high end balanced interconnect has two special, uncommon features. The first is a very thick mechanically applied layer of very pure silver on every conductive strand. This adds to its superb sound quality and prevents chemical deterioration.
The second is the Triaxial conductor configuration. Triaxial signal lines are surrounded by an extra shield which strongly reduces any possible crosstalk between the signal lines as well as external interference.
The MC – SILVER IT Mk II is available in stereo pairs with XLR connectors, packed in a deluxe wooden box, and in 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2 and 1.5 m. lengths.
Hulliflex
The external insulation is made of a special type of HULLIFLEX: HULLIFLEX EHD. This specific insulation material is too costly to be used in all VDH’s products. It is PVC- and Halogen-free, and has complete ecological qualifications, as well as providing excellent protection from atmospheric pollution.
Details
The conductors in the MC Silver IT mkII are highest grade of Matched Crystal (MC) Oxygen Free Copper (OFC), coated with very pure silver. The centre conductor is made of 19 strands a diameter of 0.16 mm. each.
2 layers of teflon tape are applied over this group. Over this is a second braiding of silver-coated Matched Crystal OFC, which acts as a signal return.
After this comes a second insulation layer of 4 sheets of Teflon.
The final outer group functions as shield and is made of 2 layers: First, a helically overlapping wound silver tape with dimensions 2.5 x 0.05 mm; and second, a braiding of 216 0.102mm strands of again, silver-coated MC OFC.
